Lake Baringo Club is situated on the shores of Lake Baringo
and nestles amongst a garden oasis of palm trees, green lawns
and the vivid pinks, purples, reds and oranges of the bouganvillea
which thrive in the hot steamy climate of Baringo. Accommodation
is in 52 simple single storey rooms which spread through the
gardens either side of the main buildings. All rooms have
mosquito nets, fans, bathrooms ensuite and a small verandah.
There is a small, sparkling swimming pool.
Baringo is renowned for its spectacular
and varied bird life and activities at the Club include morning
and evening birdwalks with the resident ornithologist, boat
rides on the lake, visits to the local Njemps villages or
relaxing beside the swimming pool. Horses are available for
hire for rides along the lake shore. Hippos abound in Lake
Baringo and can often be seen in the evening grazing on the
lawns of the Club and should be given a wide berth.
