Larsen's Camp is a luxury permanent tented camp discreetly
situated on the northern banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River which
forms the southern boundary of Samburu Game Reserve. The opposite
bank of the river lies in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve. The
17 spacious airy tents, all raised on wooden platforms, nestle
between acacia trees and doum palms. Cool green lawns stretch
between the tents. The food is excellent and often cooked
on barbecues in front of you. Before dinner guests sit with
drinks around the camp fire. The mess tent is open on three
sides, tables are set with silver and china and dinner is
served by candlelight.
The atmosphere is of luxury and tranquility.
The river is the perfect stage for an endless pageant of wildlife
- elephant rolling and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala
nervously drinking, baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through
the tree canopy and vivid bird life.
