Enjoy the informative nature walks, spectacular sundowners
and exciting night game drives.
Delamere Camp is situated on the shoreline of the alkaline
Lake Elementaita, deep within the Great Rift Valley, and within
Soysambu Wildlife Sanctuary. This private sanctuary encompasses
the northern, western and southern shores of the lake and
comprises lava flows covered in acacia bush, moist yellow
fever forests, leleshwa bush and open grassland. It is not
only home to hundreds of thousands of lesser and greater flamingo
and Kenya's only breeding population of Great White Pelicans,
but also a myriad of larger and smaller water birds and a
host of other game. The Camp is set several hundred yards
back from the northern lake shore, protected from the prevailing
winds by a large basalt cliff to the east.
Accommodation is in tents with en
suite bathrooms and a small verandah overlooking the lake.
Activities include day and night game drives in the camp's
vehicles, game and bird walks or silent and still vigils in
strategically placed game blinds.
